AMCCC takes dig at Omar for un-necessary criticism of PDP-BJP govt | | | Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 23: All Migrant Camps Coordination Committee (AMCCC) has taken a dig at former chief minister, Omar Abdullah for his criticism of the present coalition government in the state. The Committee has said that Omar failed as a chief minister and he is now trying to create confusion vis-à-vis working of the present dispensation. Talking to Early Times after chairing a meeting of AMCCC, Desh Rattan Pandita, President AMCCC said that the previous NC-Congress government forced the state into economic distress. Pandita said that financial liabilities mounted during the previous regime and that an impression is being created that this problem is due to the wrong policies of the present government. "The PDP-BJP government should order a probe in the financial irregularities carried out during the previous government. Responsibility needs to be fixed and stern action should be taken against the people who have compounded problems for the common masses. Financial mismanagement was at its peak during the previous government and the concerned need to be made accountable for the same," said AMCCC President. Pandita said that the treasuries have been emptied due to the wrong policies of the previous government with people suffering like anything. He said that employees are being denied their General Provident (GP) Fund amount since there is no money in the government kitty at the different treasuries. The AMCCC President said that return of Kashmiri Pandits to the Kashmir valley would be impossible without the support of Muslims of the valley. He asked the state government to ensure that no damage is done to the properties both personal as well as religious to the Pandit community in the valley. "In the past it has been witnessed that some damage was done to the temples as well as houses of the Kashmiri Pandits. The government in place should ensure that such things are not repeated so that an atmosphere of trust is there on the ground. Once that happens then the return of Kashmiri Pandits would become a reality," said Pandita. The AMCCC President hailed the decision of increasing the monthly relief for the migrant families from Rs. 1650 to Rs. 2500 per soul. He said that step is welcome one and it would bring relief to the thousands of migrant families putting up in Jammu and other places in the country. "We are highly thankful to Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, state's relief and rehabilitation minister, Syed Basharat Bukhari and Relief Commissioner, R K Pandita for taking personal interest in this matter. It was due to the active role played by these people that the monthly relief has been increased for migrant families," said Pandita. The others who spoke on the occasion include M L Koul, Ravinder Pandita, T K Raina, Abdul Qayoom, C L Raina and Sardar Daljeet Singh. |
