Passengers left high and dry in Jmu as Swaraj Exp gets cancelled | | | Early Times Report Jammu May 23: Passengers who had got reservation from Jammu to Mumbai in Swaraj Express, today were left high and dry as Railways Authorities declared the train movement cancelled owing to the ongoing strike by the Gujjars at Bharatpur. As per reports in the ongoing strike by Gujajrs in Rajatshan demanding reservation quota in jobs forcing Railway Authorities to cancel the train today. The people who have arrived in Jammu to pay obeisance to the Mata Vaishno Dewi and have their reservation in said train today were left stranded at Railway Station with insignificant facilities from Railways authorities for large number of passengers. When contacted railways officials, on promised anonymity said, "Apart from Swaraj Express, the other trains movement on the Delhi-Mumbai tracks have been disrupted since Thursday evening when the Gujjars began their agitation to demand five per cent reservation in government jobs." "The agitation has resulted in cancellation and diversion of many trains passing through the route," they said. "The decision for cancellation was taken by the railways keeping in view the safety of the passengers, officials said further adding, the same would be resumed whenever the department seems feasibility in regard to this. |
