DIG DKR held police public meeting at Gandoh

Kishtwar May 23: Deputy Inspector General of Police Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban range Nisar Ahmed, alongwith Addl. SP Bhaderwah, Amit Bhasin today visited Gandoh and conducted police public meeting with the local people. The aim of the meeting was to strengthen the relations between Police and public.
The meeting was attended by several people including members of all communities, Political and social activits, Sarpanches /Panches of adjoining area and prominent citizens of Tehsil Gandow. Participants applauded the role of Police for conducting such types of meetings to ensure better relationship between Police and Public. Bushan Kumar Ganjoo, SDPO Gandoh and SHO PS Gandoh were also present on the occasion.
During the course of meeting, the participants put forth their demands viz. posting of para-medical staff and specifically lady Gynecologist at SDH Gandoh, establishment of Fire Station, SRTC service from Gandow to Jammu, settlement of SRO cases of civilians who have been killed during militancy, establishment of traffic check post, fixation of fares in respect of vehicles plying in Gandow area, providing of 50 bed which were withdrawan from SDH Gandow, special Army/CISF recruitment drive etc. The participants further urged for restoration of PSOs to protected persons which have been earlier withdrawn.
DIG Nisar Ahmed urged upon the participants to co-operate and strengthen the hands of Police, so that the social crime, smuggling of Drugs, bovine, illicit liquor, forest produce etc be eradicated from the society. The participants were assured that District Police Doda is trying its best to curb the crime from the society and asked for more cooperation from public, so that a crime free atmosphere is buildup. Moreover, they were asked to maintain peace and communal harmony in the area.
Prominent among others Ranjeet Singh Manhas, Shah Din Naik, Abdul Qayoom Bhat, Mohammad Abbas Khan, Mehraj-ud-din, Bal Krishan Pathania, Sarpanch Kahaljugasar, Abdul Latief Wani, Sarpanch Galli Bhatoli, Lal Chand Hiteshi, Muneer Ahmed, Sarpanch Chilli, Mohammad Younis, Sarpanch Budhli, Haji Umar Din and others.
