LMD imposes fine on Easyday Store, serves notice to Bhushan Radio 6/1/2015 11:01:31 PM Jammu, June 1: A team of Legal Metrology Department under the supervision of Dy. Controller Enforcement VS Sambyal conducted surprise checking in the premises of Easyday store at Muthi and imposed fine of Rs 20000 for charging the exorbitant rate of soft drinks. As per press release, the checking team detected the management of Easyday displaying the Maximum Retail Price of soft drinks of quantity 1.25 l more than the Maximum Retail Price marked on packs by the manufacturer. On questioning, Easyday management members accepted their offence and requested for its composition. The Dy. Controller Enf. in turn fixed the penalty, to the tune of Rs. 20,000/-, which was deposited by the management with the department. Acting on a consumer complaint, the Dy.
