Setting aside Dy CM's opposition, Govt allows Kapil Sharma, Naresh Kumar to join new postings | Instead of furthering party's plans, BJP ministers pursuing their personal agenda | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 1: Already facing severe criticism of common masses for "betraying" people of Jammu region on the issue of artificial lake and AIIMS, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh received a severe setback when Joint Commissioner of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Kapil Sharma joined his new positing as Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Jammu. The Deputy Chief Minister had made it a prestige issue to stop Kapil Sharma from becoming ADC Jammu. Similarly, Dr Singh had also opposed transfer of Naresh Kumar as Additional Secretary Power, but he too has joined his new postings. Due to some old personally enmity, the Deputy Chief Minister, through his OSD, had written a letter to Commissioner JMC not to relieve Kapil Sharma. Copy of the letter was also sent to the Deputy Commissioner Jammu to apparently ask him not to allow Sharma to join his new posting. But despite letters of Deputy Chief Minister, Kapil Sharma has taken his charge as ADC Jammu which is clear indication that Government has not taken any serious note of the anger shown by the Deputy Chief Minister against shifting of the officer. Kapil Sharma, KAS officer, was transferred on May 29 from the post of Joint Commissioner JMC and was posted as ADC Jammu. The Deputy Chief Minister, who holds the portfolio of Housing and Urban Development, was not informed when Kapil Sharma was transferred. During the Coordination Committee meeting which was held on May 29 evening, the Deputy Chief Minister raised hue and cry over transfer of Kapil Sharma. He immediately written a letter to Chief Secretary, through his OSD, to get all transferred cancelled. But without caring the letter written by Dy CM, government allowed all officers to join their new postings. After clearance from Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Chief Secretary Iqbal Khanday, the General Administration Department (GAD) had transferred 17 KAS and IAS officers. 17 officers included Kapil Sharma and Naresh Kumar also. The KAS officers in question were much aware that Deputy Chief Minister would create problem for him, they joined his new positing on May 30, very next day of the order. |
