| Amarnath Yatra-2015 to commence from July 2 amid tight Security | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 1: Amarnath Yatra 2015 is all set to begin on July 2, 2015 amid tight security arrangements and call by separatists to boycott the Yatra. The 2 month long Amarnath Yatra 2015 will continue till 29th August 2015.
The Amarnath Yatra 2015 is one of the most holiest pilgrimages of Hindus and is participated by over 5 Lakhs pilgrims every year. It is organized by Amarnath Shrine Board which is headed by the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, N N Vohra.
Pilgrims visit the Holy Cave of Amarnath ji to get a darshan of holy Shivlinga formed of ice. The Shivlinga is is formed due to freezing of water drops that fall from the roof of the cave on to the floor and grows up vertically from the cave floor. The Cave waxes during May to August, as snow melts in the Himalayas above the cave and the resultant water seeps into the rocks that form the cave and gradually wanes thereafter. As per the religious beliefs, it has been claimed that the lingam grows and sinks with the phases of the moon reaching its height during the month of shravana. In 2011, the Amarnath Yatra witnessed about 634,000 pilgrims. The number of pilgrims in Amarnath Yatra 2012 was 622,000 in 2012 and 350,000 in Amarnath Yatra 2013. This is in addition to thousands of pilgrims who visit Amarnath Yatra by Helicopter.
During Amarnath Yatra 2015, around 7500 Yatris would be given permission to travel on per day per route basis. On this basis there would be about 16000 pilgrims on the tracks every day. The Online Registration for Amarnath Yatra 2015 had started in April. The Official Website of Amarnath Yatra would provide facility to register online for the Yatra. To register online for Amarnath Yatra 2015 via Helicopter, you can google for "Amarnath Yatra 2015 Helicopter Booking ", "Amarnath Yatra 2015 Helicopter Package", "Amarnath Yatra 2015 Helicopter Tickets", "Amarnath Yatra 2015 Helicopter Registration", "Amarnath Yatra 2015 Helicopter Cost". You will get several tour operators which provide the facility of Amarnath pilgrimage by Helicopter. It costs around Rs. 5000 per person.
Please note that Amarnath Yatra by helicopter will take you only till Panjtarni. Beyond that Yatris will have to take walk till Holy Cave by Foot or Potters. The Holy Cave is around 1km from Panjtarni.
There are 2 routes for Amarnath Yatra 2015 viz. Pahalgam route and Baltal Route. Baltal route for Amarnath Yatra 2015 is comparatively short, but is difficult to trek. Pahalgam route for Amarnath Yatra 2015 is length but is safe route.
Like previous years, Medical Fitness Certificate would be mandatory for all Yatris for undertaking Amarnath Yatra 2015. All States and UTs have provided a list of Doctors/ Institutes who are authorised to issue Health Certificates for Amarnath Yatra 2015 to the medically fit applicants. The list is available on the website and only the certificates by these doctors/institutes would be considered for Amarnath Yatra 2015. |
