Katra bound train chugs four hours late from Jmu Rly Stn due to engine failure | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 1: Thousands of passengers in two Katra bound trains suffered when train having No 74909 was stuck at Chack Rakwal railway station due to failure of its engine, here on Monday. As per reports, the Katra bound train developed technical snag after reaching at Chak Rakwal, resulting delay of nearly four hours in its chugging from Jammu to Katra railway station. The train had to chug from Jammu railway station at 12 noon as per its right time schedule. The train was finally given green signal after railway authorities attached new diesel engine with it. The engine failure not only affected the passengers of 74909 train but the DMU also. The Katra-Pathankote train (DMU) which has right time to reach at Jammu Railway Station at 5 pm from Katra arrived nearly four hours delay. A railway officer when contacted said that the further journey wasrestored after another engine was pressed into service to carry. |
