RTI activist urges Chief Minister to ban 'Maggi' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 1: Demanding complete restriction on sale of ' Maggi' in School and Hospital Canteens, online petition via www. jkgrievance. nic.in to the Chief Minister, by RTI Activist Raman Sharma has expressed his concern on the allegation of presence of hazardous substances in Maggi, "I am worried about the news report appearing in national media about the presence of MSG, Monosodium Glumate and Lead in ' Maggi ' a sort of noodles," the activist submitted in his plea to chief minister urging his intervention in this regard. In his plea the activist further demanded that J&K Drug & Food Control Organization be directed to immediately pick samples randomly and get them tested from laboratories of national repute to confirm the presence of MSG, Monosodium Glumate and Lead in this product and till final report and expert opinion on the samples comes, the product be banned in Hotel, Restaurants, School, College and Hospital Canteens. In concluding lines, the activists has appealed if the official reports confirm the product fit for human consumption then the ban shall be revoked immediately. |
