| Swaraj Abhiyan J&K Chapter holds meet | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Jul 6: Jammu Kashmir Swaraj Abhiyan' volunteers held a meeting at Chadwal Morh on Sunday in which large number of people participated to show their solidarity with the campaign. During meeting the host elected a Steering Committee for smooth functioning of J&K Chapter Swaraj Abhiyan.
I D Khajuria state Convener Swaraj Abhiyan' presided over the meeting whereas Prof Radha Krishnan also shared the dais as key note speaker.
During the programme, Prof Radha Krishnan exhorted gathering to make 'Jai Kissan Andolan' successful, which is under process as village-to-village contact and to collect 'ek Muthhi Mitti' in a Kalash to send Delhi for a big rally at Parliament Street on August 10 under the leadership of Yogendra Yadav. Speakers highlighted the demands of Jai Kissan Andolan Professor Radha Krishnan that bill of Land acquisition should revoked without any further delay, arrangement of permanent income for Kissan family as guarantee at the rate of Rupees 15000/- per month, increase minimum support price of every crop and end the fertilizer crises.
In his address, I D Khajuria state Convener Swaraj Abhiyan' demanded immediate lifting of water from river Ravi as share at the rate of 1650 cue-sec ft and permission to Kissan families to utilize the Khair-wood in the open market. He also raised the demand of farmers including compensation of loss of border area crops, cattle loss, education loss and losses under Firing Range, namely Chhatra range of last 16 years with affect from 1992-2008.
During the meeting, a Steering Committee comprising I D Khajuria as Convener, Bashir Ahmed as Secretary, Abdul Karim as Spokesman, Farooq Ahmed Majgam as Spokesman and Rani Devi as member. |
