Former ADDC Kishtwar joins PDP | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, July 6: After a series of resignations from senior party leaders including party Vice President District Kishtwar, ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today got a shot in the arm after former Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kishtwar, Nazir Ahmed Shah joined the party in presence of party patron and Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today. Sixty-four year old Shah who after retiring from government service did soe social work runs the prestigious Islamic institution Jamia Public School Kishtwar. His joining the politics is considered to be a big achievement for PDP, as several top rank bureaucrats turned politicians in recent past distances itself from the party by resigning which include the resignation of Raiz Ahmed Zarger (Retired ADDC), Mushtaq Ahmed Qazi (Retired ADC) and Noor Hussain Malik (Retired Tehsildar) who tender a joint resignation to party President Mehbooba Mufti on 15-05-2015, followed by the resignation from another senior leaders and District Vice President Kishtwar Ghulam Mohudin Sheikh alias Rahi master on 21-05-2015. The resignation of Rahi from the party led to sluggish accusation and counter accusation between him and party senior leader Sheikh Nasir Hussain who slams Ghulam Mohudin Sheikh by accusing him off working for opposition in last year assembly election, while Ghulam Mohudin Sheikh accuses that Sheikh Nasir Hussain who happened to be the District Youth President Congress Kishtwar before joining PDP played pivotal role in breaking the PDP in Kishtwar at behest party enemies and further accuses him of playing conspiracy to throw senior party leaders out of the party so that decks for him could be cleared to grab the post of District President PDP Kishtwar. As par the party statement, Nazir Ahmed Shah was impressed with the programs and policies of PDP and inspired with the personality of Mufti Muhammad Sayed. Shah on this occasion said that he has always been a social worker and assured the people that he would continue to carry on his work even after joining active politics. "I will not leave any stone unturned to strengthen the party at grass root level and carry the message of party leadership among the masses", said Shah added that PDP Kishtwar is blessed to have young and dynamic leader like MLC Firdous Tak, who according to Shah in a short span of time has proved himself by way of delivering at public front. Shah has served in various capacities in District Kishtwar and Doda during his service period and remain in constant touch with general public during all those years. On this occasion MLC Firdous Tak welcomed Shah in the party fold and said that intelligentsia like Nazir Ahmed Shah has a crucial role to play in the changing political scenario. "We will have to raise above self interest and give up 'Mujhay Kya' syndrome in order to leave a datable and sustainable political horizon for the generations to come", said Tak, urging the intellectuals of the district to actively participate in the political activities so as to built a strong society. Sheikh Nasir Hussain, Ishtaq Hussain Waza, Retd. Capt Ashraf Kichloo, Arshad Giri, Wasil Doolwal, Rashid Lone, Jaffar Babzada, Sajad Dev, Saif ud Din, Haji Mohammad Iqbal, Mohammad Munwar Bhat, Mohammad Iqbal Baig, Abdul Rasheed, Mohammad Saleem, Touseef Iqbal and others welcomed Nazir Ahmed Shah in the party fold and assured full cooperation to him. |
