Early Times Report Kathua, Jul 6: Jammu & Kashmir Ex Services Welfare Association (JKESWA) continued their agitation/dharna for the consecutive 22nd day in support of its long pending demand for implementation of 'one rank one pension (OROP).' Led by Col PL Choudhary, Founder Chairman of the Association the ex servicemen of district started their stir at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Kathua demanding 'one rank-one pension'. Speaking on the occasion, Col PL Choudhary, Chairman of JKESWA, informed the agitating Ex-servicemen that a delegation of Ex servicemen accompanied by Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag, Chief of the Army staff has met the Defence Minister on this July 3 and apprised about the long pending demands of the ex servicemen. "The Defence Minister reiterated the assurance of Govt to agitating Ex servicemen for implement the OROP but he however refused to divulge any date as to when the OROP is to be implemented, he said, adding, "so the Joint Front of Ex servicemen has decided to continue its relay hunger strike at Jantar Mantar till a date for implementation of OROP is announced/notified by the centre. "So we too will continue to struggle at Kathua in support to the call of the Joint Front of Ex servicemen," Col Choudhary said. He also informed that a delegation of Ex servicemen would be meeting the Station Commander on July 9 to submit memorandum to the Station Commander for further disposal to Defence Minister and Prime Minister through our Chief of the Army Staff.
