BCCI's Zonal committee finalises calendar | J&K gets U-14 boys, U-19 girls tourney | | JAMMU, July 27 : The North Zone fixture committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has allotted Jammu and Kashmir two events of under-14 boys and under-19 girls (one-dayer) tournaments on rotation basis. While dates for boys'event are unknown, the girls' under-19 competition shall take place between September 25 and September 30, a handout issued by the vice chairman of JKCA Jammu, Rakesh Kumar informed. In addition, two under-16 boys' matches have also been allotted to J&K. In these matches, hosts, J&K shall take on Delhi and Himachal Pradesh. The North Zone fixture committee meeting from J&K was attended by joint secretary of the JKCA Jammu wing, Sudershan Mehta. Meanwhile, it has also been decided in the same meeting that the North Zone (review) fixture committee meeting shall take place in Srinagar. However, surprising part of the handout issued by Rakesh Kumar was that he (Rakesh) still admires Dr Farooq Abdullah as president of the JKCA. The letter head issued by vice chairman of Jammu Wing, Rakesh Kumar still mentioned Dr Abdullah as president of the JKCA. Important to mention here that Dr Farooq Abdullah in a meeting of the JKCA (his group) held at Srinagar recently suspended both Sudershan Mehta and Rakesh Kumar as office bearers of Jammu Wing and subsequently appointed other persons to look after the affairs for the upcoming cricket season. |
