| Vibodh asks BGSBU VC to tell people about scholarship scam | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAJOURI, July 27: MLC Vibodh Gupta has asked BGSBU (Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University) vice-chancellor (VC) to inform people about the internal investigations into the recently exposed scholarship scam and other financial irregularities that had rocked the campus recently.
He was speaking to a gathering after he was presented a copy of Mirtunjaya -- a news letter of Sangarsh, a civic movement for Justice, Peace, Prosperity, Equality and Brotherhood, fighting against irregularities in BGSBU.
Shokat Ali ,vice-president of Sangarsh, on Sunday presented the first copy to the MLC and informed him that more than 5,000 copies have been printed to be distributed among the people of this area for their first hand information about the misdoings in BGSBU. Vibodh appreciated the commitment, enthusiasm and zeal of the members of the movement and extended them his full support. He demanded to make the forensic report public for the real truth to come out so that those, who demolished the academic and secular image of the university which had come into existence in the name of holy Saint of Peer Panjal region, were put behind the bars.
He also asked Rajouri SSP Haseeb Mughal and the SIT to speed up investigation so that "no one gets the chance to mould evidence". "Those involved in the scam may take the advantage of the slow pace of investigation and a chance to escape. People have high hope in fair and transparent investigation by police and want its logic conclusion," Vibodh said. He also asked VC to implement the recommendations made by the Internal Inquiry Committee constituted under the supervision of Prof Ghulam Hassan Dar, Dean Bio-Sciences and Bio-Technology. He said that the coalition government is committed to provide a corruption free administration and here in this case where some officials of the university are involved in misusing the scholarship funds of the poor students shall also be dealt under the law of the land.
Shahbaz Khan of Pahari People Movement has also appealed to all the social and political organizations to support "Sangarsh' that has raised voice against the scholarship scam, financial irregularities and other misdoings in BGSBU. Vikrant Sharma of Rashtriya Pahari Andolan has also appealed to the people to support the initiatives of the Sangarsh movement and make it a public movement to get rid of the corrupt officials in BGSBU. |
