Army organizes Ex Servicemen Rally at Sainik Bhawan Kupwara

KUPWARA, July 27: In yet another effort to recognize the contribution of Ex-servicemen and address their grievances, an Ex-servicemen rally was organized by frontier Division of Kupwara on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas (26 Jul 2015) at Sainik Bhawan, Kupwara. The rally was attended by 87 Ex-Servicemen, 10 War Veterans, 43 Widows, 10 Veer Naries and 17 Children.
The senior Army and Civil officials graced the function, Brigadier SG Chavan, Commandant, JAK LI RC, Captain (Retd) Aziz Lone (Indian Navy), Officer-in-Charge, Zila Sainik Welfare Office and host of other army personnel attended the event to make it a grand success.
Officer-in-Charge, Zila Sainik Welfare Office, Aziz Lone (Indian Navy), during his talk apprised the Ex-servicemen about the actions being taken to enhance the reach of Ex-servicemen beneficiary schemes to maximum veterans especially in the remote areas and other facilities being created for them.
Later the gathering was addressed by representatives of JAK LI Records, Zila Sainik Welfare Board and Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme officials to redress grievances and queries raised by the Veterans and Widows/ Veer Naris.
The Army Officials present during the function expressed deep gratitude to the ESM on behalf of serving Personnel for the invaluable contribution and sacrifice in service of the nation. He finally concluded the rally by thanking all the Ex-servicemen for their eternal support extended to the units serving in the region and also pledged unstinted support for their cause. During the rally, various information stalls were established to provide one stop solution to all concerns of the Ex-servicemen.
Apart from general awareness concerning various welfare schemes for the veterans and their families, the rally also provided basic medical and dental health care facilities to the Ex- Servicemen and their wards. The overwhelming response of veterans and their families was evident from their active participation.
