NSF demands revoking suspension of scholars | | | Jammu, Aug 23: The National Secular Forum (NSF) has flayed the dictatorial attitude of Prof R D Sharma, the Vice Chancellor of Jammu University (JU), who suspended three scholars for raising voice against the malpractices being done by the Varsity administration. Addressing a press conference here today, NSF General Secretary Narinder Singh the scholars were suspended by the University on false ground as they had merely highlighted an administrative lapse, the proof of which is available. "Some days back, the goons of ABVP manhandled the HoD Economics and forcibly enforced boycott of classes and yesterday they held the entire University hostage and even beaten up the security personnel but, the Vice Chancellor turned mute spectator to their goondaism", Singh said. He alleged that the Vice Chancellor owing to his proximity to political bosses in BJP high-ups have chosen to turn mute to the rowdy behavior of ABVP activists on the campus and given them free hand to exploit the innocent students and staff members to settle their political scores. Singh appealed the Governor to intervene into the issue so that suspension of scholars could be revoked to save their career from ruining as already four months time has lapsed of their research. |
