VC Kissan Cell visits Khour Block; listens problems of farmers 8/23/2015 11:27:37 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 23: The Vice Chairman of Kissan Cell Daljit Singh Chib today visited Khour block of Akhnoor tehsil and took stock of the problems being faced by the farmers of the areas in a function organized by the local farmers .During his visit, Vice Chairman of Kissan Cell Daljit Singh Chib was apprised by farmers that despite the fact that 95 percent of the population of the area belongs to agriculture sector but still this community is lagging behind as compared to other areas in the region. They told the VC Kissan Cell that the farmers have to face problems of electricity, irrigation facility, availability of seeds due to which they have to suffer huge crop loss every year. Expressing resentment over the inflated electricity bills, the farmers said that every month they are being given inflated electricity bills by Power Development Department despite 18 hours power cut every day. Vice Chairman of Kissan Cell Daljit Singh Chib heard the grievances of the famers patiently and assured them that all their problems will be redressed amicably.
