SHG Interface programe organised 8/30/2015 11:49:26 PM Early Times Report Katra, Aug 30: SHG Interface program was organised at Katra by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development. NABARD Chairman Harsh Kumar Bhanwala presided over the program. On the occasion, HK Bhanwala inaugurated the program. He interacted with SHG members of Udhampur and Reasi districts. He encouraged SHG members to actively participate in meetings and start some income generating activities with the help of loan availed from banks. SA Pande spoke on status of SHGs in J&K state. He briefed on benefits of forming SHGs. He added that SHGs as a group can get linked with banks easily. Pattnaik asked NGOs to handhold SHGs regularly and monitor their progress so that rural women get financially literate. SHG members informed that with the help of bank loan, they are doing various activities like dairy, retail shops, etc. Also loan repayment by all groups is 100%. In case of emergency members can take loan from group savings and repay at low interest rates.
