Sharma likely to become Chief Secretary ? 8/30/2015 11:51:22 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 30: The suspense over the new Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir is expected to end by Monday evening. With Iqbal Khanday having made it clear that he will not be attending the office after September 1, the state govt is bound to make alternate arrangements Monday evening as it cannot keep the chair vacant in the wake of several developments. Either the state govt will have to issue a separate notification to make stand by arrangements or make its stand clear over the name of the new officer who is likely to occupy the chair. Among the front runners and as per senior the names of several officers were doing the rounds but out of all of them BR Sharma is emerging as dark house and is most likely to become Chief Secretary of the state. Notably Sharma was handed over the charge of the coveted post on August 21 when Khanday had taken a day off and had not attended the cabinet meeting.
