Karra, Hari Om on same page for different reasons | PDP-BJP alliance | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 10: Monday witnessed PDP leader and Lok Sabha MP Tariq Hameed Karra and Prof Hari Om, former political advisor to J&K BJP president, issuing statements against the PDP-BJP coalition. Both warned their respective high commands that the coalition between the two was undesirable. Karra asked his high command to appreciate the Bihar verdict and break ties with the BJP. "The results of the Bihar Assembly elections were a wake-up call to his party (PDP) as the door had been closed 'on communal forces'. Knock knock PDP. Still time to wake up. Door closed on communal forces. Window of opportunity opened for secular forces. Knock knock PDP," Karra said in a series of tweets following the thumping victory of the Grand Alliance in the Bihar elections. Karra also claimed that the results of the Bihar polls were an endorsement to the issues he had raised in Kashmir. "Issues I raised in Kashmir endorsed by Bihar verdict. Had msg (message) emanated from J&K by pull out from RSS-driven dispensation, it would've been stronger," Karra further said in his tweets. The point is that he urged his party high command to snap ties with what he called "communal RS-BJP", suggesting that the association of the PDP with the Sangh Parivar has harmed the PDP's interests in the Kashmir Valley and it would be only appropriate if the Muftis end ties with the BJP. Karra has not been, it needs to be underlined, attending the party's meetings since months now and issuing statements at regular intervals against the PDP-BJP coalition. Here in Jammu, Prof Hari Om also urged his party high command to snap ties with the PDP, saying the association of the BJP with the pro-self-rule PDP was one of the factors responsible for the massive defeat of the BJP in Bihar. "The association of the BJP with the pro-self-rule PDP has harmed the party not only in the sensitive State of J&K, but also hurt it at the national level. It was one of the factors that led to the defeat of the party in Bihar," Prof Hari Om claimed. In a statement issued by Prof Hari Om, he "appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah to snap ties with the PDP without losing a moment to save the party's credibility". "The grand alliance leadership and its spokespersons exploited the developing situation in Kashmir to the hilt. They made it part of their election campaign and repeatedly charged the BJP with entering into an alliance with what they again and again termed as pro-Pakistan and pro-separatist PDP. Ending ties with the Peoples Democratic Party will go a long way in helping the BJP to regain its lost position in the Jammu province and silence the parties like Congress, RJD and JD(U), which invariably contested the BJP's nationalist credentials by questioning its alliance partner in J&K," said Prof Hari Om's statement. Interestingly, the State BJP has issued a show cause notice to Prof Hari Om and accused him of making statements against the PDP-BJP coalition and preventing the BJP from carrying forward its agenda in the Government. Tariq Hamid Karra and Prof Hari Om have been demanding end of the PDP-BJP coalition for different reasons. Karra wants the PDP to end ties with the BJP to promote the separatist cause in Kashmir and Prof Hari Om wants the BJP to snap ties with the PDP to protect and promote further the Jammu cause as well as the national cause. It appears both Karra and Hari Om are on their way out. They may be expelled from their respective parties for their pro-party stands. |
