Army constructs check dam at village Makri 1/29/2016 10:25:09 PM Early Times Report RAJOURI, Jan 29: Various army units in Rajouri district deputed either on Line of Control (LoC) to protect the borders or in hinter areas for maintaining law and order, have been engaged in mitigating the problems of the people besides their official engagements. In one such endeavor, Engineer Company of Rajouri based Ace of Spades Division has constructed a 'check dam' at village Makri situated near Line of Control in Nowshera tehsil in Rajouri district. Army sources said that the 'check dam' project was taken in hand by the army to mitigate the water crises of the villagers of a forward and remote village. "Standing robust against the flow of water, the dam is now retaining water in a reservoir of 15 meters by 30 meters which is sufficient for fulfilling the daily needs of the villagers" said a senior army officer. He added that the construction of the 'check dam' was completed recently and was handed over to the villages on the occasion of Republic Day.
