Jammu, Mar 25 : Continuing their Bandh since 2nd March 2016, the Jewellers in Jammu and all over India are protesting against the imposition of Excise Duty on production/ manufacturing of Gold Jewellery, which will force the production workers and the manufacturers to close down their units. At Jammu, the Dharna was held on 24th consecutive day at Jain Bazaar, Jammu. All India Vice President Swarnkar Sangh and President Swarnkar Sangh, Jammu Province, Raj Kumar Babbar, President Sarafa Association Jammu, Parjan Kumar Jain, President Swarnkar Sangh Jammu District, Kulbhushan Anand, General Secretary Sarafa Association Jammu, Vijay Verma, General Secretary Swarnkar Sangh Jammu District, Ajay Vaid, who were present in the Dharna, said, "we will not leave our Excise Duty rollback in the middle at any cost and government has to think upon it before it gets too late." All the prominent jewelers, executive members of Sarafa Association and Swarnkar Sangh, Karigars, artisans, were present in Dharna. They said they will continue their strike in protest against the proposed 1 per cent excise duty on non-silver jewellery. |
