JAMMU, Mar 25 : Jammu and Kashmir Indian Style Wrestling Association is holding 8th State Championship at Dewan Mandir Akhara, here on March 29. This was decided in a meeting of the Association held under the chairmanship of president, Shiv Kumar Sharma, who happens to be Joint Secretary of the J&K State Sports Council. The event is fully sponsored by the Sports Council and a grant of Rs one lakh has been sanctioned for the day-long competition, a handout issued by the Association here today said. Wrestlers from districts units of Kathua, Samba, Pooch, Udhampur, Reasi, Rajouri, Doda, Anantnag, Ganderbal, Srinagar, J&K Police and hosts Jammu are expected for the competition. The event shall take place under the supervision of Association chairman, Prem Choudhary. Those participating wrestlers have been advised to report to Mulkh Raj Sharma at the venue at 9 am for weighing, followed by the competition starting from 11 am. The actual competition shall be held in weight categories of 55 kg, 61 kg, 67 kg, 75 kg, 85 kg and +85 kg. Members, who attended today's meeting were Prem Choudhary, Inderjeet Khajuria (senior vice president), Prithvi Raj Sharma (treasurer), Bansi Lal Tidyal (general secretary), Mulkh Raj Sharma and Bittu Raina. |
