Teachers appointed in remote areas skip duties | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Apr 17: Teachers appointed in far off areas in Rajouri district especially in the primary school don't bother to attend their duties despite several steps were taken by the district education department to ensure staff presence and smooth working in the schools. In one such case a single teacher looking after the affairs of primary school at Zhansi under the jurisdiction of Moghla Education Zone rarely comes to school and the students return back to homes finding the school closed. "Department had appointed two teachers to run the school but the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) has attached one teacher at his office and another who belong to Jammu district attend school at his own wish" said Alam Din, Sarpanch. He added matter was taken several times with the concerned Education Officials but nothing has been done since a long time to ensure the presence of the teacher/teachers in the school. Alam Din further said that more than 45 students enrolled in the school facing many difficulties in pursuing their course work. Pertinently, State Government vide its order N0.26 dt 2/2/16 had ordered the detachments and vide his office order No.51847-64 and 51897-100 ,Chief Education Officer Rajouri had directed all the ZEOs and DDOs to relieve all the employees/teachers working in their offices under attachment adjustments. "The matter will be investigated why the teacher is not regular towards his duties and suitable action under rules/ regulations will be taken against him if the complaint was found genuine" said Chaman Lal, ZEO. Chief Education Officer (CEO) Ch Altaf Hussain said all the attachments (barring on the directions from the Courts or on medical grounds) have been cancelled in the district. He assured to look into in this case soon. |
