Early Times Report SAMBA, May 12: Unscheduled power cuts have confronted the people of this border town and its adjoining villages with gross inconvenience due to prolonged power cuts, but the PDD authorities have been inert to the difficulties of the people. Several residential wards of the samba town and remote Villages including Behri, Salmah, Penthi and Talot are also made to suffer the worst nightmares in scorching heat with no respite from the unscheduled power cuts. People alleged that their difficulties were increasing with the rising mercury but the PDD is unconcerned. The government had promised to the people that after installing electronic meters they will get twenty four hours electricity and there will be no curtailment. "For the last one week there have been frequent cuts in our area. It has become very difficult to spend time during power cuts in scorching summer. The State Government has been exposed on its failure to keep the promise made regarding providing regular power supply" said Daleep Singh,a resident of Village Behri Samba. Ekta Mehra a resident of Ward No 9 Samba said that the PDD department had totally failed to provide uninterrupted power supply in our ward for the past some days.
