| 03 drug peddlers alongwith brown sugar worth Crore, cash over Rs 2 Lakh held | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 12: Police today arrested three drug peddlers and recovered brown sugar worth Rs one crore besides Rs 2.20 lakh cash along with 682 intoxicants and 02 grams of Heroin from their possession in two separate incidents at different places.
Police spokesman said that today City Police achieved a big success after they recovered 1.5 kg brown sugar worth Rs around one crore along with 2.20 lakh cash from the possession of drug peddler.
Police further added that in continuation to operation 'sanjeevani', the drive against drugs launched by SSP Jammu Dr Sunil Gupta, In-charge Police Post Hari Market, Jammu SI Kunal Singh alongwith a team under the direct supervision of SHO City, Jammu Inspector Shakti Devi and SDPO City North Vivek Shekhar under the overall supervision SP City North Vinod Kumar intercepted a person namely Vicky Kumar son of Late Sukh Ram of Kanji House Jammu on his suspicious movements.
During the search of his belongings police team recovered 1.5 Kilograms of Brown Sugar having market value of more than one crore alongwith 300 intoxicated capsules besides cash worth Rs 2.20 Lakhs from his possession.
A case under FIR No 37/2016 u/s 8/21/22 of NDPS Act has been registered against the accused at Police Station City and further investigations are on.
Police also said that Vicky Kumar himself is a drug addict and is habitually dealing in the smuggling/sale of narcotics drugs from last so many years.
Meanwhile, in a similar surprise naka checking Police arrested two drug paddlers and recovered two grams of heroin, 15 bottle corex and 382 intoxicants capsules from their possession.
Spokesman said that Police party from Police Station Gandhi Nagar headed by SHO Gandhi Nagar DySP (P) Mir Imtiyaz and SI Pawan Dogra In-charge Police post Digiana during naka checking at Sanjay Nagar Chowk signaled one motor cycle (JKO2BB-7274) for checking but the driver tried to break the naka. The motorcycle was chased the naka party and was caught.
On the serach of belongings of two riders of motorcycle police recovered 02 grams of Heroin, 15 bottle corex and 382 intoxicant capsules from the possession of duo (driver and pillion rider). The accused have been identified as Gurvir Singh s/o Harbhajan Singh of Digiana and Harvinder Singh s/o Gurmeet Singh of Digiana Camp.
The arrest was made under the supervision of incharge SDPO City South Jammu Vishal Manhas and Shazad Salaria, SP City South. |
