| Low voltage giving people sleepless nights, PDD feels relaxed | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, May 27: Though the Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh who holds additional charge of Power Development Department (PDD) has ensured 24X7 hours power supply during his election campaign yet the people are living in worst condition courtesy PDD department which is supplying low voltage throughout the night hours to consumers giving the sleepless nights.
Locals irked over the low voltage are forced to have sleepless night and wander here and there throughout night hours due to low voltage as they can't operate their electrical gadgets on low voltage which sometimes even suddenly go on higher side causing damagers to electrical gadgets.
A Kathua resident lamented although the situation is not more commendable in day hours but PDD officials enjoy comfortable times in Air conditioner facilities at offices and at their residences too.
Irony of the situation is that when people approached PDD officials, they never response calls thus leaving people brewing with resentment against PDD for its negligent attitude.
A local Suresh Kumar said PDD officials are adding woes to the normal life of people in this hot summer season as low voltage is being supplied to the people and additional Power supply to industries for vested interests. He said a series of deputations have called on XEn PDD Sandip Seth and AEE Ganesh Kumar but all in vain.
Another resident Kanta Devi lamented people can't sleep during night hours courtesy the low voltage which fails to run their fans and coolers. She also rued low power supply has left many household appliances defunct.
The people have demanded transfers of lethargic PDD officials who failed to perform their duties. |
