PLS releases Punjabi Magazine 'Aabroo'

Jammu, Aug 26: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (PLS), Jammu released Quarterly Punjabi Magazine 'Aabroo' edited by Dr. Baljit Singh Raina, a well known Punjabi and Hindi writer of the state. A function was organized at K L Saigal Hall, Cultural Academy, Canal Road, Jammu today.
Charanjit Singh Khalsa, MLC was the Chief Guest and Rangeel Singh, Ex- Minister, J&K Govt. presided over the function. President, Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik, General Secretary, PLS, Press Secretary, Jang Verman and Treasurer Dr. Monojit were among the intellectuals and well known writers of Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Dogri, Kashmiri and Pahari.
Welcoming the guests, Dr. Monojit extended a welcome to the guests and said that the magazine provides platform to the creators of local literary works as well. The dogri, Urdu,Pahari, Kashmiri writers have been incorporated with the magazine by publishing their translated works. This will also help in understanding local trends in literature.
The magazine was released by Charanjit Singh Khalsa and S. Rangeel Singh. Members of Punjabi Lekhak Sabha joined them. Dr. Baljit Singh Raina gave the details of The other members of the editors board that includes S. Davinder Singh vishavnagrik, Dr. Manojit and Dr. Ashok Kumar. He also gave details of the articles and other content of the magazine on this occasion. He said that magazine has been re- established after a gap of about fourteen years. He said that among other features the July- September, 2016 issue carries full play 'Izzat Da sawaal' by Davinder Singh Vishavnagrik and a novel 'Kukku Doo Ghadoon' by Dr. Manojot is peng published in series.
S. Charanjit Singh Khalsa appreciated the initiatives of Punjabi Lekhak Sabha in promoting Punjabi language in all its forms. He complimented Dr. Baljit Singh Raina, Editor of the magazine for bringing out publication of 'Aabroo' again.
