Financial literacy awareness programme organized | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 26: Financial literacy awareness programme was organized by JK Grameen Bank Dayala Chak at Dinga Aamb with the assistant of Area Office Kathua and collaboration of NABARD with a motive of creating awareness on financial concepts and management of money amongst the people and make people aware of social security schemes. More than 150 persons including men and woman of adjoining area participated in the camp apart from higher official from JK Grameen Bank Area Office Kathua. Ram Dev Sharma Area Manager Kathua & Samba who was the chief guest on the occasion, highlighted about development in Banking sector and latest schemes i.e., Pradhan Mantri's Social Security Schemes, Self Help Groups (SHG's), Joint Liability Groups (JLG's) and NRLM for people of rural area who are yet not aware of all such schemes. He highlighted that joint liability groups and SHG under NRLM are an effective credit delivery methodology for banks to reach clients like small farmers, marginal farmers, tenant farmers and also micro entrepreneurs and therefore an important tool for poverty alleviation and social cohesion. The speaker assured the people to put their demand of opening new branch at Dinga Aamb to his higher authority. He guided the public about the timely repayment of the credit facility availed by them so that the account may not slip to NPA (Non Performing Assets) and a trustworthy relation can be built up between bank and its customer. He also said that bank money belong to people and bankers are just custodian of money for them, so it is their utmost responsibility to utilize this money for development of their local area and satisfying their personal needs as well. |
