'Karyakhas' ASI not relieved even after 9 months of transfer | | | JAMMU, Sept 3: A 'karyakhas' ASI, who is alleged to be quite close to his SHO and the concerned 'senior' officer, has not been relieved even after nine months of his transfer to some other place. Before his elevation as ASI, he was the driver of his SHO. He is posted in the police station which is in the neighbourhood of Samba police station. His place of residence is also in the same area. Sources alleged that being a local, he had been the main source of unlawful earnings for his SHO and the senior officer. He was said to be posted at the police station for the past several years. "He is so close to his SHO that whenever the latter proceeds on leave, he is given the charge of the police station, notwithstanding the fact that there are other officers at the police station who are senior to him. Not only this, all the main cases are handed over to him for investigation even as he is not well versed in Urdu," sources alleged, saying all other IOs at the police station knew Urdu very well. He was not being relieved because of his closeness to his SHO and the 'senior' police officer and also because of the fact that all the illegal earnings were being routed to them through him, sources alleged. He was alleged to be a powerful 'karyakhas' in the areas that 'fall under the jurisdiction of the police station'. "His writ also runs large at the police station where majority staffers are not happy with him," sources alleged. |
