CTF says Jammu traders, hoteliers & industrialists suffer Rs 3805.60 Crores losses

Jammu, Sept 3: expressing concerns over the ongoing unrest in valley, the Chamber of Traders Federation (CTF) Jammu today said that Jammu business community including traders, hoteliers and the industrialists have suffered a whooping losses of Rs 3805.60 Crores due to ongoing unrest in valley.
This was informed in a specially convened meeting of Chamber of Traders Federation (CTF) Jammu under the chairmanship of its President Neeraj Anand held today at Hotal Asia on the 'Fallout of Kashmir turmoil on Jammu's Business and Developmental Activities.'
The CTF Members also summated a memorandum of demands to Dr Nirmal Singh Deputy Chief Minister J&K in the presence of Kavinder Gupta Ji Speaker, Priya Sethi MOS, Sat Sharma (BJP President) Rajesh Gupta (MLA Jammu East) Dr Pawan Kotwal Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Danish Rana IGP Jammu, Ashkoor Wani DIG Jammu, Manmohan Singh Commissioner JMC Jammu and Mubarak Singh Vice Chairman JDA Jammu.
Earlier the demands highlighted as mentioned in the memorandum were discussed in detail with Deputy Chief minister and administrative officials. Dr Nirmal Singh assured CTF President that all genuine demands of the trading community will be considered on top priority
Members in meeting apprised Deputy Chief Minister Dr Singh that conditions have so drastically changed in Kashmir Valley during last two months that our region could not remain unaffected any more.
"The disturbed conditions have put brakes on the business activities and loss of crores has already been reported due to blocked payments from the Valley, the CTF president Neeraj Anand said on the occasion.
Giving brief details of losses, he said, "A comprehensive detail of the losses suffered by different segment of traders and service providers includes Indian Association of Tour Operators suffered upto Rs 100.00 Crores, J&K Petrol Tank owners and Tankers Association upto Rs 15.60 Crores, Jammu Fruit Association upto Rs 90.00 Crores, All Jammu Hotel & Lodges Association alongwith Hotel, Bars & Restaurant, Hotel Association, Katra & Patnitop upto Rs 3500.00 Crores, Traders Federation Ware House and Kanak Mandi Wholesale Traders upto Rs 100.00 Crores summing to a whopping amount of Rs 3805.60 Crores losses."
He added that even the Industry, already reeling under slow demand has projected a turnover loss of Rs.3000.00 Crores and cash loss of Rs.150.00 Crores appx. (Bank interest - 100.00 Crores, Salary & Wages - 30 Crores and power bill - 20.00 Crores) Seeking early restoration of peace in valley, the CTF Speakers also reiterated demands like early completion of Baghe-Bahu Cable Car project, River Tawi Lake project, Suchetgarh Border to be developed as another attraction point on the pattern of Wagah Border Ceremony and etc.
Eminent business heads of different Associations present on the occasion were Yash Paul Gupta Chief Patron CTF, Anan Sharma President J&K Petroleum Association, Attar Singh, Vinood Sachdeva, Parveen Gupta, Kailash Nath Nagar, Inderjeet Khajuria, Capt. Anil Gour, Anil Suri and others.
