DPS, Jammu celebrates Teacher's day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 3: Teachers play a major role in making their students responsible citizens of tomorrow and good human beings. Teachers' day is celebrated every year on 5th of September across the nation as a mark of tribute to Dr. Sarvapalli Radha Krishnan. Delhi Public School, Jammu also celebrated Teacher's Day with full zeal and enthusiasm. The programme started with paying a tribute to DR Sarvapalli Radha Krishnan by the School Dignitaries. The School Head Girl and Head Boy highlighted his achievements and contributions in the field of education. The day had an emotional and recreational touch. The students did all preparations with complete energy and excitement. They organised the series of games and programmes to felicitate their teachers. The function proceeded with an enthusiastic Punjabi Dance performance by Little Kids of the school. It was applauded by everyone. There were many fun games arranged for the staff like musical chair, peel potatoes, passing the pass and sponging water for the teachers, by the students. Medley songs and musical treat by the school band overwhelmed the audience. However, the 'icing on the cake moment' was the mesmerising sitar recital by the Principal of the School along with the other faculty member of the Music Department, which won everyone's heart. In her address later, the Principal, Ruchi Chabra, greeted and applauded all the teachers for their invaluable contributions. She added that the school and the students owe all their success to their teachers. Speaking on the occasion, Dy Head Master, Ravi Kotroo enumerated the role of teachers in shaping the future of children, and in laying the strong foundations for a prosperous and developed Nation. |
