People seek probe into assets of separatists | Crorepati Hurriyat leaders | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report Kishtwar, Sept 3: As the unrest in Kashmir does not show any sign of ending soon, people are demanding a probe into the assets of Hurriyat leaders who are behind this unrest. The people are also demand that the government should withdraw security of the Hurriyat leaders. Around Rs 500 crore was spent on the security of these leaders in last few years. "The Modi government should not waste a minute to remove the security cover from Mirwaiz and others. Separatists are separatists whether they are moderate or hardliners. Time has proved that these moderates and hardliners join hands against India as and when they are directed by their masters across the border," said an angry man. Muzaffar Ahmad, a resident of Srinagar, said, "The state government as well as the central government failed to check and curb the anti-national activities and money launderings by the Hurriyat leaders. The activities of different leaders and their sympathizers are not monitored closely by the state government and instead they get security cover to carry out anti-India activities." "This is not democracy in which the government is providing security to the persons who are threat to other's lives and are attacking the unity and prosperity of the country. There is not a single such kind of examples throughout the world and our politicians should be educated in this regard," Muzaffar said. Altaf Ahmad, another youth from Srinagar said, "State government is fully aware about the separatists and their sympathizers who are involved in money laundering and have made heavy fortunes for themselves". He said the income and properties of separatist leaders like Mirwaiz, Geelani, Shabir Shah, Yasin Malik are known to everybody and inaction in this regard by the state government is frustrating which is not understandable. Most of the sympathizers of Mirwaiz, Geelani, Shah, Yasin Malik etc are doing business outside and within country and some of them are actively associated with the traders federations in Kashmir. These businessmen export handicrafts to other countries and bring crores of rupees for Hurriyat leaders. He said that these are the people who encourage school going children for stone pelting and anti-India protests by funding and meeting their needs during the strikes and unrest. Altaf suggests that the state and central government should act against such people without wasting further time. |
