| DDC resolves National Highway issues | | | Early Times Report
Ramban, Oct 17: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ramban, Mohammad Aijaz convened the meeting with revenue officers, engineers and representatives of construction agencies working on prestigious four laning project of NH-1A from Nari to Jawaharlal tunnel for smooth ifting of public utilities besides resolving confronting issues of four lane construction companies.
The meeting was attended by ADC Babu Ram, XENs of PHE, PDD and representatives of the companies Navayuga, Ramky, IL&FS, HCC, GAMMON India, NHAI besides other district officers.
DDC directed revenue officers to complete the remaining codel formalities of the land acquisition. He also reviewed the progress of ifting utilities of PDD, PHE and forest departments including their reinstallation and developing suitable environment for construction work, DDC resolved several issues in the meeting.
DDC directed construction companies to provide adequate projected funds timely to the concern departments for execution of utility- ifting work without affecting the life of general public who rely on these utilities profusely.
Expressing his displeasure over the non compliance of terms and norms of the contract, he said that the public is being affected at large by traffic jamming and accidents due to lack of proper maintenance of National Highway by the companies in their respective areas.
He also stressed for providing, erecting and maintaining barricades, signs, markings and flags at construction sites. He further took the stock of issues related to the forest department and asked the company representatives for strict adherence of terms and conditions laid down in the contract agreement and not dump the extracted muck at unidentified locations. |
