JTC opposes govt's proposal of Cash relief | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 17: Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) today opposed government proposal of cash relief in lieu of ration. According to press release a joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee Jagti and Soan Kashmir was held here today under the Chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, President. During the course of meeting thread bear discussions were held after going through the notification published by the relief Organisation (M) Jammu, seeking option from the Registered Migrant relief holders willing to avail cash in lieu of ration. The Participants after due deliberations have decided that they will not opt for cash in lieu as such will not submit option forms as desired by the Relief Organisaon (M) Jammu. The participants have said that they are entitled to Ration as such they will receive ration as per prevailing practice as per the quota fixed by the Government. He said that the prices of all essential commidities have gone sky up as such has demanded enhancement of Cash assistance relief to the tune Of Rs. 25000 per family per month. Pandita repeated his demand for enhancing ration quota to the Employee category migrants from 20 Kg per family to 50 kg per family with 1 Kg sugar on payment as per past practice. Pardita has further demanded providing of Ration slip books to the Govt. employee and pensioners facilitating them in procuring ration from the Ration Depots on Govt. rates.
