| Rally for raising awareness among women Voters organized | | | Early Times Report
HIRANAGAR, Oct 17: With an aim to motivate eligible women voters to enroll and cast their vote, on the directions of District Election Officer Kathua Rame Kumar, CDPO Hiranagar today organized a rally under the Systematic Voter's Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Programme at Hiranagar. CPDO Hiranagar, BDO Hiranagar, Tehsildar Hiranagar flagged off the rally from CDPO office. The rally went through the town and finally culminated at the CDPO office. The ICDS workers and helpers in large number participated in the rally carried banners, posters, placards and pamphlets highlighting the importance of voting. CDPO Hiranagar afqat Majeed said, "The SVEEP programme has been initiated in the district to motivate voters and spread awareness about their constitutional right. He also exhorted upon the ICDS workers and helpers to act as ambassadors and disseminate the message of importance of electoral participation for stronger and participative democracy.
While highlighting the importance of elections and voting in democracy, BDO Hiranagar Mohammed Syed appealed eligible souls to register themselves in electoral rolls. |
