SDM Nowshera launches Ujala scheme | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Oct 24: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Nowshera Harbansh Lal Sharma today launched the Ujala scheme in Nowshera sub division with the distribution of Light Emitting Diodes (LED) bulbs among the consumers at a function held at Nowshera. Ujala schme was launched by the Prime Minister in the month of January in 2015 and under this scheme every family will be provided with a set of 5 LED bulbs. "On the first day of the scheme 250 LED bulbs were distributed among fifty five registered domestic electricity consumer by the J&K Power development Department in collaboration with Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. (EESL)" said SDM. He added scheme is introduced to benefit the consumers and save their day to day energy bill. Under this scheme consumer can buy 5 LED bulbs at the rate of Rs 20 each on production of Photostat copy of photo identity card and latest electricity bill. In case of purchase of more than five bulbs, consumers need to pay Rs 95 per bulb and the LED bulbs will be distributed through special counters setup at designated places. There will be phase-wise distribution and the location of counters would be communicated through awareness campaigns to inform the consumers, said SDM. |
