| Casual Medical Employees highlight demands, hold protest | | |

Jammu, Oct 24: J&K Medical Department Daily Wager Union under the chairmanship of Rakesh Mehra held a massive dharna/demonstration in front of OPD Block of Govt Medical College and Hospital, (GMC&H) Jammu today to register protest against alleged callous and adamant attitude of the Medical College Hospital Authorities towards the burning demands of the casual workers engaged by Medical College and Associated Hospital including Super Speciality Hospital, Jammu.
Addressing the gathering, Rakesh Mehra criticized the State Government, Health and Medical Education Department for playing with the carrier of hundreds of innocent casual labourers who are working day and night for the smooth functioning of health career but they are not being paid the due wages for more than 30 months.
Akhil Sharma, Shamas Din, Rahul and Imtiaz Khan also highlighted issues of casual workers and said they have been working for the last four years but now their fate is uncertain as every authority is shifting the responsibility to one and other creating chaos.
Senior leaders of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) Babu Hussain Malik, State President EJAC (R ), Pradeep Kumar President, Medical College Employees Union, Bharat Bhushan, Yashpal Sharma, Darshan Magotra, Seva Ram Rathore, Meenakshi Sharma, Farida Bano, Ansuya Gupta, Munish Sharma, Naresh Kumar, Sudershan Singh and Mangal Singh also addressed the protestors. |
