AIJM President visits border villages, takes stock of losses | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 24: Choudhary Manmohan Singh, President All India Jat Mahasabha J&K today toured border villages of RS Pura Suchetgarh ; Kurotana Khurd along with Sarpanch Swarn Lal, and took stock of the losses of residents. He also visited in village Abdullian with Sarpanch Choudhary Pappu, and met with the people who lost most of their cattle in cease fire violation by Pakistan. Speaking on the occasion, Singh said these people are being forced to face the consequences of violations by Pakistan while they stand guarding the border with our Army. Their houses are invaded and broken by firing shells, they have lost their cattle and their fields with ripe crops are inaccessible to them while they are stuck inside their homes, these villages have till now have no incidents of militant infiltration due to the active vigilance of people living their but now these people are being made a prisoner in their own homes because of cease fire violation attempts of Pakistan. Ch.Manmohan Singh said that an eye for an eye ends up making whole world blind, so opening fire against Pakistan while seems a very good response to other people but their are our people who are suffering a lot due to this, and they have no hopes to be compensated by Govt for what they have lost. He said that Govt should formulate a concrete policy for the border area people who suffer every day in violation firing, from both sides. Govt should ensure that the locals are insured against their losses, their cattle and agriculture, their families are safeguarded,so in such cases they are compensated financially to cover their losses. |
