Jammu, Oct 24: The Jammu city on Monday witnessed a very unique event in Amar Singh Club, with the hosting of a historic painting exhibition, which was the first such display of its kind not just in India but in Asian continent. What marks it as truly unique is that the exhibition was not held in a gallery, theatre or convention hall but inside the swimming pool of Amar Singh Club Jammu, called Yes Thank You Universe. The exhibition featured a series of 51 paintings on the theme of gratitude and has reportedly created a new Guinness World Record for the largest underwater Painting Exhibition in the World. All the paintings were made by Vickrant Mahajan, actor, motivator and the founder of Superpositivity Movement. Vickrant has already created Guinness World records for longest speech, longest play and largest book signing and is on his way to perform over 100 Guinness world record attempts by the end of this year. The exhibition was installed and curated by Archana Sardana, India's leading sky diver, base jumper and scuba diver. She took the viewers in full scuba gear to the depths of the pool to view the exhibition. According to rules, all the paintings had to be fully submerged in water and anybody intending to view it had to go inside the pool in scuba gear. This is a new record category by GWR and the benchmark was set at 50 paintings of a minimum size of 0.5 metres by 0.5 metres each. The event was sponsored by Sachin Jain of JSI and the judges to the event were Kiran Wattal, former Jammu Municipal Commissioner and Rajiv Sardana, former naval commander, who ensured all the rules were satisfactorily met with. Former Commissioner of JMC Kiran Wattal witnessed the paintings after scuba diving in the pool of club. Secretary of the Amar Singh Club Vijay Saraf played a key role in organizing the event. The job of judges was tough as they had t ogo under water to sec the performance of the participants on the basis of these judges, they will be recommended for guiness book of world records. |
