Jammu, Feb 10: Indian Navy honors Aarushi Thakur Rana- a young director of Natrang Jammu here this evening for the outstanding performance of the play 'In Her Shoes' which was staged for the jam-packed audience at Mahendra Nath Mulla Auditorium, Navy Nagar, Mumbai. The story of the play 'In Her Shows' is inspired by a true psychological case study which is written by Nupur Sandhu- a Serenity Surrender Therapist and is scripted and directed by Aarushi Thakur Rana. Aarushi Thakur Rana started as a child artist in Natrang at the age of 4 and participated in over 50 major productions of Natrang. After graduating from St. Stephens College, New Delhi did her post graduation in International Relations from the University of Leicester, UK. She has undertaken training from Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, London in the year 2012. She has directed six major productions that include Great Expectations, Oliver Twist, Rashomon, Henry & Anne, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Matilda 'The Uncrowned Poet', Twelfth Night and 'In Her Shows'. He always endeavours to evolve plays based on challenging themes instead of taking up pre-scripted plays. He also has the credit of having undergone specialized training in direction in the Directors Theatre workshop organised by National School of Drama New Delhi. Her play 'In Her Shows' is going to be the first play from the state of Jammu & Kashmir which will feature in Kalaghoda Festival Mumbai on 11th of February, 2018. Aarushi Thakur Rana is also recipient of 1st Prem Jamwal Youth Art Innovation Award instituted by Kunwar Viyogi Trust. Currently settled in UK, Aarushi is all set to start Natrang's International chapter in London. |
