Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 10: A Member of Legislative Assembly and former Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone raising pro-Pakistan slogans in the House has left the Opposition National Conference red faced. Lone, who is also a former Minister, raised anti-national slogans in the House and after coming out of the Assembly he said, "I stand by my statement." An observer said, "Had a common man raised Pakistan zindabad slogan in any official gathering or a function Police would have nabbed him then and there only and he would have been booked." He said, "It's strange that no action has been taken against Lone, who is infamous for raking controversies." An analyst said, "It's amazing that BJP despite being in power has failed to take action against a legislator who indulged in an anti-national act and praised Pakistan, which is bleeding us." He said, "Speaker, who is a senior BJP leader should allow Police to act against him. Anti-national legislators like cannot be allowed to get away with whatever they do. Law should take its own course as no one in above the law." A politician said, "If no action is taken against Lone it would encourage other legislators to indulge in anti-national acts that too within the House. Lone seems to have forgotten that he is under oath to safeguard the constitution of India. He can be booked for sedition." |
