| Locals encroach SHD land in Ari | | | MS Nazki

Poonch, Feb 10: Around half of the total land belonging to Sheep Husbandry Department at Ari in block Mendhar has been encroached by locals having an unholy nexus with some officials of the department, sources said here today. Land measuring 32.8 kanals earlier has been reduced to only 15 kanals as some influential locals were hand in glove with some dishonest officials of the department sources said this practice has been going on gradually for the last quite some time adding, with in the compound wall one more protection wall is being raised dividing the land to felicitate the locals. The land houses the office of Assistant veterinary surgeon said a Transit camp officer (TCO) who is the in charge of block Ari, to Early Times adding that such type of practice should be done away. He said higher ups have been intimated time to time regarding the issue but no action has been initiated, he added. It is pertinent to mention here that all these developments were taking place under the very nose of District Sheep Husbandry officer Poonch Dr BC Sharma who seems to have been slept over the matter despite several complaints regarding the encroachment of SHD Land from different corners. Many prominent citizens appealed the concerned authorities to initiate the inquiry into the matter. Unauthorized walls were being raised within the compound wall of the premises was a matter of concern, they added. |
