Thousands of people participated in last rites martyred armymen in Kupwara
Villagers demanded end of the blood cycle and urged for talks to stop these tragedies

KUPWARA, Feb 13: A pall of gloom descended in this border district of north Kashmir's Maidanpora and Hiehama areas after the dead bodies of slain army men reached to their native villages. Thousands of people joined the funeral procession of both the slain martyrs with amid slogans and tearful emotions.
The body of JCO Mohd Ashraf's, wrapped in the tricolor, was brought in a bedecked army vehicle to his native village where thousands of people from neighboring areas attends his funeral procession.
Thousands of people including women, children and men in uniform participated in the funeral Procession of slain Ashraf Mir S/O Ghulam Mohi-ud Din Mir who was killed in a Fidayein attack in Jammu on Feb 9.
The brave hearted soldier Mohammad Ashraf is survived by wife, daughter of 2 and half years old and two sons), ailing father, and one unmarried sister.
Aijaz Ahmad the younger son of martyred soldiers told early times that, "He was the sole bread earner of his family and now we have to take care of the whole family as all the responsibility is now laying on his shoulders.
Much blood has flown now, be it an army man, civilian or anybody, after all a human being is killed and that should not have happened. As nothing will happen with bullet or violence, only holding dialogue could bring peace and stability in Kashmir, said Aijaz.
His father Ghulam Mohi-ud Din Mir said that the deceased Ashraf was the only bread earner for the family. "He was our only hope. He laid down his life for the country.
Asraf talked to me a few days back after he reached back to his unit at the camp, now my dreams have been shattered as I am myself very old aged person, and I have to stand again for his family, otherwise that was not possible when the deceased was there, said family head Mir.
However 18 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of army also took part in the last rites of Soubidar Mohammad Ashraf Mir and gave gun salutes to Martyred JCO with full military honor. After which the even the family and villagers demanded end to the bloodshed and urged for talks between India and Pakistan to stop these killings and tragedies".
These killings lead to tragedies and destruction only. We appeal India and Pakistan to put to an end the hostility and stop these inhuman acts," villagers said.
While as the same amid emotional scenes was witnessed at Heihama Kupwara, after the dead body of Martyred Havaldar Habibullah Qureshi reached to his native place.
Meanwhile the body of Habibullah Qureshi S/O Haji Ammanullah Quereshi R/O Heihama was, wrapped in the tricolor, was brought in a bedecked army vehicle to his native village where thousands of people from neighboring areas attends his funeral procession.
Women were seen wailing over the death of Quershi, according to them, he was very sociable and human nature with everyone.
It would be difficult to forget him, now the only hope is to meet with him in heaven, said Uncle Mohammad Shafi Quershi.
The deceased slain Havaldar is survived by old aged parents, five sisters, one brother and his own family with six daughters and a wife who is pregnant, and his two daughter one is of 17 and another 2 and half years old.
The district administration officials including DC Kupwara, police and army visited the home of slain Havaladar of Habibullah Qureshi, Hiehama Batpora Kupwara.
