JAMMU, Feb 26: The 20th State Kabaddi Championship for men and women began after its formal inauguration here today.
Former Union Minister Prof Chaman Lal Gupta inaugurated the championship while Anil Gupta, President J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association presided over the function. Teams representing Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Udhampur, Srinagar, Ganderbal, Anantnag, Baramulla, Pulwama, Rajouri, Poonch, Kupwara and Budgam are participating in the championship. All the district secretaries and presidents were given warm welcome by Anil Gupta and honoured with shawls and bouquets. In the matches played under men's section, Jammu beat Rajouri by 56 points while Baramulla beat Anantnag by 6 points. In the matches played under women's section, Srinagar beat Anantnag by 32 points while Jammu beat Udhampur by 40 points. |
