Poonch, Mar 1: Demanding new pipe line for water supply in Purani Poonch, the Samaj Seva Society (SSS) today staged protest against PHE department.
The protestors said that most of the pipes of the line laid for supply in the area, have been rusted and damaged. The residents of the locality are not getting sufficient and clean water. They also alleged that the department has hands in glove in a mafia and the pipes are being sold instead of utilizing for the purpose.
Jugal Kishor, the president of SSS, who was leading protester, demanded a probe into pipe scam in Poonch. "Give us a supply line otherwise a mass agitation would be launched against black-sheep in the department who had swindled thousands of the pipes. He was accompanied by Koshal Sharma, Amnish Dutta, Balwant Singh, Romesh Chander and others. |
