Jammu, Mar 5: Sports tourney 2018 of Cluster University, Jammu was declared open by Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari. Bukhari is the Pro Chancellor of Cluster University, Jammu.
The tourney is organized by the Office of Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu. Minister for IT, Technical Education and Youth Services & Sports Imran Raza Ansari along with Prof. Anju Bhasin, Vice-Chancellor, CLUJ were present at G.G.M. Science College, Constituent College of Cluster University of Jammu, venue of the tourney. The students from the five constituent colleges of Cluj: GCW Gandhi Nagar, Govt. MAM College, Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, Govt. College of Education Jammu and GGM Science College are participating in Sports Tourney 2018.
Prof. Anju Bhasin, Vice Chancellor, CLUJ said the games would be organized from 5th to 12th March, 2018 and athletic meet to be held on 3rd and 4th April, 2018. She said that the events like sports tourney help inculcate punctuality, discipline, ethics, morals and values amongst today's youth.
Bukhari, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that healthy mind rests only in a healthy body and helps in overall personality development of students. Ansari, who was the guest of honour said that youth should more actively involve themselves in various sports activities.
Dr. Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare CLUJ in her concluding remarks congratulated the participating teams and encouraged them to avail this wonderful opportunity to showcase talent, comradeship and fair play. She also explored that the maiden Sports Tourney 2018 will play a significant role in raising the University's Sporting profile. She also acknowledged the strenuous efforts of all the Physical Directors in organizing the event. |
