BJP-PDP playing politics of 'divide and rule': Harsh
3/6/2018 10:19:10 PM
Early Times Report
Majalta, Mar 6: Expressing deep concern over the fast deteriorating law and order and worsening security scenario in the state, Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and Former Minister today accused both BJP and PDP of fomenting trouble and escalating tensions in both regions by their reckless, irresponsible utterances for vested interests.
Having failed on the governance and delivery front, the coalition partners had resorted to 'divide and rule' policy to divert the attention of the public from virtual administrative collapse and its multiple failures. He said that with Kashmir turmoil getting worse with each passing day, the heat in Jammu region had turned into a furnace, with ruling party leaders actively involved in fanning the flames. He was addressing public meetings in Bilaspur and Pathwar villages of Tehsil Majalta today.
Describing the multiple protests on day to day basis in various parts of Jammu region for creation of new Districts, as the handiwork of BJP leaders, Singh said that they had provoked the people in different parts as a part of their machiavellian strategy. The people sharing a common demand of creation of another District in Rajouri were divided and pitted against one another so as to delay and thereby deny and deprive them of their most genuine requirement of administrative unit based on logic and rationale, he regretted. He called upon the people of Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakot not to fall a prey to divide and rule policy of BJP and to give a united fight so that the aspirations of all were addressed. He said that JKNPP shall fully stand by them in their pursuit for justice.
Accusing further the communal divide engineered by the BJP-PDP govt in Kathua, Singh called upon the saner elements of all religious and social groups to expose the opportunist elements and make concreted effects to strengthen the age old bonds of communal harmony and amity. He said that if the demand for CBI probe could satisfy the people, the govt should not have any reservations and questioned the contradictory posturing of BJP and PDP over the issue. He urged upon the people not to be swayed by the empty rhetoric of BJP Ministers and their henchmen who were desperately trying to retrieve their last ground through politics of division and hate mongering.
