Samba, Mar 7: Nearly a month after the alleged rape and murder of Asifa (8) in a neighbouring village of Rasana in tehsil Hira Nagar, body of missing nine year old boy was recovered from a pond in village Meen Sarkar on Tuesday.
The boy has been identified as Sonu Kumar son of Kuldeep Kumar a resident of Meen Sarkar near Bari Brahamna in district Samba.
According to sources, Sonu went missing from his home on the intervening night of March 4/5 and his family filed a missing report with the police at Bari Brahamana police station. Soon after receiving the complaint, the police started search of the boy and during search operation Sonu's body was found floating in the village pond
Police immediately took the body in its custody and shifted it to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospitals, GMC Jammu, for postmortem.
The police has lodged a First Information Report (FIR) and started investigation. Postmortem report is, however, awaited. |
