Early Times Report Rajouri, Mar 7: District administration today in a major anti-encroachment drive removed 13 structures, including 7 houses and 6 shops, on about 12 kanals of state land worth Rs 4.50 crores. The drive was initiated in Kotranka town, tehsil HQs and after 6 hours long drive the land was retrieved by demolishing structures on 1.11 kanal of land. "A major anti-encroachment drive has been started by the district administration in Kotranka town to retrieve the prime land under illegal occupation, " said the DDC. He added a string contingent of police force and fleet of machinery reached Kotranka early morning and started operation planned by inter-departmental committee. "Earlier a team of revenue officials comprising of Qila Darhal and Darhal tehsildars had demarcated the land and more than 12 encroachments on state land were mapped" said DDC. Sources said A.S.Chib, Additional DDC (ADDC) headed the demolition drive and was assisted by Shafiq Ahmed, Additional DC (ADC) , Kotranka, Deputy SP, Sukhdev (Operations), Suresh Kumar, tehsildar , Kotranka and others. Sources said that a pucca house of Imdat Hussain (he alleged that he had court stay) and Tuffail Hussain were fully demolished. Sources said that the encroached land belong to Sheep Husbandry department situated in Khasra No.266 and was encroached by Imdat Malik, Tuffail Hussain, Fazal Hussain, Mohd Shafiq, Abdul Qayoom, Mohd Latief, Mohd Illyas, Mohd Rashid Mohd Asraf , Rural Development Department (RDD) etc . DDC said that the case has been framed against encroachers and service particulars of officials posted in the department for the last more than 12 years to initiate proceedings against delinquent officials for their failure to protect the prime government property. Pertinent to mention that district administration had earlier retrieved 274 kanal of prime State land worth about Rs 70 crores situated in the heart of Rajouri city. |
