| KGBV Dhanu to be game changer for female education: MLA Ramnagar | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 7: In response to the ET report titled "BJP MLA Inaugurates Incomplete KGBY Building", published in its March 6 edition, MLA Ramnagar has clarified that the work on aforesaid KGBY building at Dhanu was started in the year 2006 but the work was deserted by the contractor midway and payment was also made to him, purportedly under political pressure.
For almost ten years, the students were dumped in a nearby Panchayat Ghar.
However, almost ten years after the episode, building was got transferred to deptt. of PWD and an AAA of balance work amounting to 108.00 lacs was drafted and sent to the Deptt. of Education. As per the terms and conditions of tender-document, work on the said project was completed within a remarkably short period and the building stands handed over to Deptt. Of Education on 27-02-2018 (the day when it was inaugurated by MLA Ramnagar). Pertinent to mention that the Warden has sought some additional facilities in KGBY complex. And she has been assured that a supplementary demand and a resultant tender shall be floated and the additional requirements shall be met very soon.
According to the MLA Ramnagar, a feel-good factor has transcended amongst the people of the area who are elated by completion of the building-in-question and it shall be a virtual game-changer in the field of female education in the remote area of Dhanwalt. |
